Terms of use

Last updated 3 November 2026. These terms apply during MDS's invitation-only testing period and will be reviewed before MDS opens to the public.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and MDS — Modern Design Studio ("MDS", "we") for using moderndesignstudio.app ("the service"). By creating an account or using MDS you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. Contact: support@moderndesignstudio.app.

2. Testing period

MDS is currently available by invitation or invite code only and free of charge. Features may change, be added or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Access given through a tester code or invitation may end on a set date; your projects are kept and come back if your access is renewed.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Give accurate details, keep your password (and authenticator, if you use one) private, and do not share your account.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• Invite codes are personal or for the group they were given to — do not publish or sell them.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: break the law or anyone's rights using MDS; upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you have no right to use; try to get into other people's accounts or data, test or break MDS's security, or overload the service; copy, scrape, resell or reverse-engineer MDS or its library; or use MDS to build a competing product.

5. Your work

Your designs and the files you add stay yours. You give MDS permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the service for you (for example, saving them to your account and showing them on your devices). You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload. Please keep backups of important work (Settings › Download a backup).

6. MDS and its library

MDS, its software, design and the furniture and object models in its library belong to MDS. You may use the library in your designs, drawings and exports, including for clients and commercial projects, but not copy, extract, share or sell the models themselves or use them outside MDS designs.

7. Measurements, quantities and costs

Sizes, cut lists, quantities and any costs shown are a planning aid only. Always check them, and have a qualified professional check anything structural, electrical, plumbing or safety-related, before ordering, building or installing.

8. Fees

MDS is free during the testing period. If paid plans are introduced, we will tell you the prices and terms in advance; nothing will be charged without your agreement.

9. Suspension and ending

You can stop using MDS and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, puts others or the service at risk, or when tester access ends; where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to download your work.

10. No warranty

During testing, MDS is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be error-free or always available, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MDS is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost data you did not back up, or costs of materials or building work based on MDS's figures), and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free testing period, nothing). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you in MDS about important changes before they apply; if you keep using MDS afterwards, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using MDS and ask us to delete your account.

13. Disputes

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@moderndesignstudio.app — we will try to resolve it quickly and fairly. Consumers keep any rights they have under the law of the country where they live.
